Volatility. Regulation. Globalization
EuroFinance’s conference on International Cash and Treasury Management in Miami was a great success this year.

Held on 5-7 May 2010, there were over 400 treasury and financial professionals in attendance at this 3 day event, which was sponsored by RBS, Santander, BBVA, Standard Chartered, Deutsche Bank and BNP Paribas.

This year’s event boasted a truly international line-up from a range of different sectors, including speakers from Burger King, Ford, Microsoft Corporation, SABIC, Campbell Soup, Telefonica , The AES Corporation and World Fuel Services.

Our top-rated speakers included George Zinn, Corporate Vice President & Treasurer of Microsoft Corporation, who talked about implementing the best global treasury solutions to become world class, and developing risk models to check that your banks are up to scratch. Economics and financial markets expert Richard Duncan spoke about the dire state of the US economy and the "bubble" state of the Chinese economy - "and bubbles always burst," he warned.

Another event highlight included the electronic voting session on day 2, which gave us insight into the thoughts and opinions of the American treasury community. Conclusion? Many US companies are performing well and not having particular funding problems, but there still seems to be a missing overall "feel-good factor".

The conference was chaired by Andrew Sawers, Editorial Director at EuroFinance.
