It’s early days but the first signs from our Quarterly Business Confidence Survey suggest that treasurers may be turning bearish again. The effect is particularly marked in Europe, thanks no doubt to the impact of the Greek crisis and the fear of ‘contagion’.

We are also seeing a rise in uncertainty where once there was more sure-footedness. In one or two questions, “Don’t know” is the top choice.

But we need more responses to validate our findings.
